Bruce Springsteen predstavio je novu pjesmu “Repo Man” s albuma „Somewhere North of Nashville“, koji će biti objavljen 27. lipnja u sklopu kolekcije „Tracks II: The Lost Albums“ (Columbia Records/Menart). Riječ je o dosad neobjavljenom albumu snimljenom 1995. godine, paralelno s albumom „The Ghost of Tom Joad“.
Pjesme s albuma „Somewhere North of Nashville“ inspirirane su honky tonkom, rockabillyjem i bržim country zvukom. Većina ključnih članova benda sudjelovala je u snimanju, uključujući Dannyja Federicija, Garryja Tallenta i Garyja Mallabera. Dodavanjem elemenata poput pedal steel gitare Martyja Rifkina (koji će kasnije postati član The Sessions Banda) i violine Soozie Tyrell, „Somewhere North of Nashville“ je postao prvi Springsteenov album nakon „Born In The U.S.A.“ na kojem je pjesme snimao uživo u studiju s cijelim bendom.
U isto vrijeme kad sam pisao pjesme za album ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’, nastale su i ove country pjesme. Sve se preklapalo, popodne bih pjevao ‘Repo Man’, a navečer ‘The Line’. Tako je country album nastao paralelno s ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’, prisjetio se Springsteen te dodaje: Album ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ me ponovno povezao s društveno angažiranim pisanjem što je dovelo i do albuma ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’. No u isto vrijeme, imao sam i tu country crtu koja je tekla kroz ta snimanja i tako je usputno nastao i country album.
Uz izlazak pjesme “Repo Man”, Bruce Springsteen i The E Street Band večeras započinju svoju europsku ljetnu turneju „The Land of Hope & Dreams Tour“, koncertom u Manchesteru, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo. Turneja uključuje 16 nastupa pred više od 700.000 obožavatelja.
